The Reuse Centre is operated by The Burlington Reuse Environmental Group which is a not-for-profit charitable organization. The purpose of the Reuse Centre is to ensure that items which would otherwise be put in the landfill are available for use by others. Items brought to the 21,000 sq ft Centre are placed in appropriate areas where they can be sold to many others for reuse.

We will accept anything in usable condition, subject to assessment by our receivers. If you are bringing items to the Reuse Centre for donation, please make sure these items are clean, in working order and are usable. We also accept old out of date electronic items or T.V.s for the E-waste program.

We do not accept hazardous wastes including dry and wet cell batteries, liquid and solid forms of fuel, propane tanks, mattresses, tires, out of compliance children’s car seats, cribs and bassinets.

We are a community clearing house. We sell books, magazines, kitchen items, china, glassware, cutlery, beds, dressers, wardrobes, chairs, tables, lighting fixtures, lampshades, sinks, toilets, faucets, plumbing fixtures, bicycles and accessories, skis, window blinds, small home appliances, toys and games. If it has been used before and can still be used in its present condition, we probably have it or will soon have it. Our stock changes daily.

The Reuse Centre exists because many people volunteer their time to help. Without volunteers, the Centre would not exist. If you can spare any time for the Reuse Centre, please complete a volunteer form, available at the Centre, and you will be contacted.

When goods are received they are weighed and then placed in the appropriate department in our 21,000 sq. ft. store. The Reuse Centre then is given an allowance by the City of Burlington, based on weight, for materials that have been saved from our landfill sites.

Goods in the Reuse Centre are individually priced.

We also have a Treasure Trove for more valuable items. These are bid on by the silent auction method.
